Notice SENSATIONS – to Move Better

Sensing things. Sensing what is actually here, right here, right now. Simply NOTICING what the sensations are.

This is how your body talks. It just needs someone to be there ready to listen 🙂

Noticing what you are sensing is a remarkably interesting and effective way to listen to what your body has to say.

This can open up some new experiences of what things ACTUALLY feel like – rather than what you EXPECT them to feel like.

And, it may even wake up your body. For example, when was the last time you checked out what your feet were SENSING??

“What? You want us to sense something?? And you are interested in what it is???” say your feet, who are used to being kind of ignored. “WAAHOOOOOOO!!!!”

What you SENSE deeply informs your body. Your body believes what it experiences.

And here’s the thing – if you have tightness or pain – and you want to change that, you need to SENSE something different – something that feels SAFE and REASONABLE to your body, in order to make it real and make it something your body might want to do again.

So, playing with what you sense (within the realm of what your body experiences as being SAFE and REASONABLE), is one of the simplest – and most powerful – ways to open up new choices for movement.

Since your body believes what it experiences, if you open up some new experiences, or experience something in a new way, your body starts to notice there is more choice about what is possible. And then the fun exploring can begin.

In this video, I invite you to check out what your hands, and feet, sense.

What happens if you start to NOTICE what you are sensing? Like – what do you sense, in your feet????

If you are sore, or tight, this can be an incredibly important and useful exploration, to find out whether something else that feels and works better might be possible…

Similarly, if you want to fine tune how you move, this becomes really interesting and powerful way to open up your OWN body intelligence about what works – for you.

Who knows all the ways in which this is oh so intriguing – for your own self, your body, your nervous system!!

Happy exploring 🙂

p.s. Ha ha ha – yup, there is a typo in the title section of this video!! I found it after it was published (of course), and decided …. what the heck, I’ll let that little imperfection live on, as one of life’s little blips 🙂
