I made 3 videos about shoulders - with a unique focus.  

One is about your shoulder blade as a "chair" for your arm bone.  Lots of my clients have said that this one idea was KEY in helping them understand their shoulder and how to have it be strong, and comfortable, and feel safe.  This way of seeing the shoulder is unique (I haven't seen anyone else describe it this way) - and VERY practical.... and, it just makes such good sense of things!

The second is about your shoulder as a "transfer point" for work to go through, not the focal point for strength.  Once you "send the work THROUGH" the shoulder joint - to get to the BIG bones and muscles in your trunk, your shoulder works much better.  You are stronger. You have less risk of shoulder injury.  All good!

And the third brings in the ribs and collar bone - and what they do that helps.  Your shoulder blade, collar bone and ribs work as a team, to give you mobility and good alignment to transfer force well.  Once you spread out the work, so that all parts of you do their fair share and no part does more than its fair share - work is easier.  Less strain, reduced risk of injury, more strength. Yay!

Soooo many people I work with have said this novel way of looking at the shoulder area helps them understand - and really improve - their shoulder and neck strength, and comfort!!!

This was a very fun video to make - and it WON a little film festival for Feldenkrais films!!  Woohoooo!  Extra cool because it was one of the first "action" videos I ever made, and edited.  May you enjoy it :-) 

This video takes you out with some great horses!  We look at horses, out on open range, and what they need in order to feel safe enough to learn something new.  Humans need these same things too!
